Finance Graduate in Valla, Sweden

What I have been working on during the graduate program in Scandi Standard:
During the graduate program, I have had many interesting projects to work on and to lead myself. I have also given input to the every-day follow-up at the factory in Valla.

My first project to work on was Valla Finance 2.0. The project was already ongoing when my graduate journey started. The goal of the project was to get a better overview of the factory’s financial result and automatize financial reporting. The new reporting required changes in the daily work in various departments and my role was to implement and follow-up on these new ways of working.

When the financial reporting was in place, I started to develop a monthly report in co-operation with the production workers and leaders. Since the report was created in co-operation with different stakeholders, a great ownership of the report was gained. The new report is aligned with Kronfågel’s goals and values and is also implemented at our ecological factory, Harlösa.

Currently, I am working as an ERP key user and project coordinator for Scandi Standard’s ERP project. My area of responsibility has shifted from controlling to master data, and I’m learning new things every day. The goal of the project is to change our current ERP system to a new one at least in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Maybe even in Finland and Ireland in a later phase. Before changing to a new system, we need to have a great understanding of our ways of working in different countries. We need to align some of our processes and identify, share, and implement best practices. Since master data is involved in all processes at Scandi Standard, I have a great opportunity to get a helicopter view of the company. The project is only in the beginning, but it has already developed my understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of Scandi Standard. The project is perfectly aligned with my personal goal to get involved in more international projects and doing my part to help Scandi Standard get maximal value out of being a part of a group.

What I have gained personally as well as professionally from the graduate program:
During the graduate program, my co-operation and leadership skills have developed greatly. I have gained a lot of knowledge of the industry and the whole value chain which has been a goal of mine since day one. I have also made new friends and learned how important it is to have good team spirit in a workplace.

Why candidates should apply for a graduate position in Scandi Standard:
You should apply for the graduate program because Scandi Standard is a young, developing company. Showing interest and dedication always pays off, and you can form your path the way you want. You will be able to co-operate with different parts of the organisation – trying out what you want for your career.

Operation Graduate. Valla, Sweden

What I have been working on during the graduate program in Scandi Standard:
During the graduate program, I have been involved in several projects. My journey began by joining a recently started project regarding wings where the overall goal was to lower costs and improve profits from the entire value chain. After working on that project for six months, I started two new projects as a project leader of which one was a CapEx project. This was especially exciting as I was now in charge of the project from the beginning and could therefore also impact the planning and strategy of the projects themselves.

Recently, I have switched to a more managerial role where I am now acting plant manager for the production site of Kronfågel in Valla, Sweden. This is a very exciting role that I truly look forward to developing further into!

What I have gained personally as well as professionally from the graduate program:
I have always had very high ambitions and strived for excellence, and Scandi Standard has enabled me to follow my ambitions. Not only have I been able to learn more about myself, my own goals, and my personal values, but I have also been able to help the company and my co-workers to grow as well. Thanks to the vast network that Scandi Standard operates in, I have also gathered lots of new contacts, experience from different cultures and working cross-functional.

Why candidates should apply for a graduate position in Scandi Standard:
I believe that by joining Scandi Standard you will as a graduate have the opportunity to grow and expand your network of contacts. But most importantly, you are being listened to and your ideas matter.

This involves talking and collaborating with all the entities that are part of the group and working together with interesting, knowledgeable, and inspiring people from all parts of the organization.

In Group Finance, my tasks included financial controlling of the corporate functions and follow-up on budgets and forecasts among many other projects and tasks that I have had the opportunity to be involved in. I have had the opportunity to be involved in the process of implementing a cash flow planning tool in the group’s consolidation system to further the group’s cash planning capability and to improve cash management. This is an initiative that originates from the group’s ambition to work actively with the group’s liquidity needs.

My second rotation is with Danpo and the operation control team in Danmark, Aars. Here I am involved in reporting of performance figures and analysing operation results in terms of yield and efficiency in our facilities. The need to investigate how the facility uses item numbers in production was identified and is now a project that I am leading together with my operation control colleagues.
