Meet our graduate Jenny Simony
Jenny started Scandi Standards’ Graduate Program 2019 as an Operations Graduate.
Tell us a little about yourself:
My name is Jenny, I am 26 years old and originally from Copenhagen but now lives in Kolding. I am an engineer within biotechnology and have been working for Scandi Standard since September 2019. I am married to Peter and expect my first child this summer.
Why did you apply for the graduate program?
A graduate program is a perfect way to learn lots of different areas and departments of a company. Being a leadership graduate for me is even better, as it is the purpose and the expectation that you can and will take place in a leading role in the future. I found this interesting especially as this has always been my dream and goal and it feels like you skip a step or two in that direction when purposely become a leader in training.
What kind of projects have you been involved in at Scandi Standard?
I have been working mostly with waste and downgrading of products. After one year of working at my local site, I got the opportunity to lead a waste project involving all our eight factories across countries. This was an extremely valuable experience for a project manager in training and I am pleased that the project turned out well and is in the process of closing, evaluation, and handover.
What have you learned?
I have learned a lot within the chicken industry, all the way from a strategic level to the machinery performing every day. I have been given a lot of responsibility and it has had great value to my learning curve and exploring my potential.
What are your thoughts regarding your journey ahead at Scandi?
I hope to continue working with projects as a project manager either locally or within Scandi Standard once I return from maternity leave. I hope in the future to be able to try my skills within management and hopefully become a great leader one day as intended with this program.
