Meet our graduate Axel Cronstedt

Tell us a little about yourself:

I come from a farm, run by my father, in an agricultural landscape in the south of Sweden. Besides sparking my interest in hunting and sailing, my growing up in the countryside triggered my interest in food production and sustainable practices.  After my degree in industrial engineering from Umeå University, I worked with internal auditing for a period before joining Scandi Standard.

Why did you apply for the graduate program?

A master’s degree in industrial engineering together with my background and interest in agriculture made Scandi Standard a perfect match. During my time with Scandi, I have had the chance to apply previous knowledge with new learnings in my diverse role as a graduate, experiences that would be hard to come by outside of the graduate program.

What kind of projects have you been involved in at Scandi Standard?

The graduate program presents several opportunities to experience and contribute to every part of the organisation. It is truly a crash course in a complex supply chain of poultry production while learning how Scandi operates as a group. I have been involved with projects ranging from Cash Flow Planning and Corporate Governance to Business Development and GDPR.

What have you learned?

A lot! I have had the opportunity to work in Finance, Operations and Sales. An experience that I am taking with me is that each branch has different characteristics, processes, and focus areas but is always working together towards the same goal of supplying healthy and sustainable protein for our customers.

What are your thoughts regarding your journey ahead at Scandi?

We are always developing and moving forward to stay current. News like plant-based and lab-based meet is something that will bring change to the protein market and Scandi Standard will embrace and develop together with those aspects. I am very much looking forward to being part of the bright and exciting future that lies ahead for Scandi Standard.
